China is the world's leading producer and exporter of paraffin wax, with an annual output of about 2 million tons, accounting for 30%-40% of the global total. The distribution of China's paraffin production capacity is highly concentrated, mainly in two Chinese state-owned enterprises, China National Petroleum Corporation（CNPC） and China Petroleum & Chemical Corporation(SINOPEC), which ensure reliability and stable quality. Paraffin wax is widely used, primarily in various chemical industries such as candles, panels, packaging, plastic additives, and adhesives.

In 2023, CNPC planned to have a production capacity of 1.48 million tons but achieved an actual output of 1.335 million tons. SINOPEC aimed for a production capacity of 480,000 tons, yet the actual output was 227,000 tons.
